I had really good luck ordering correct parts from here. Would a long fork follower rod be right? Or would it have had a short fork follower rod? I dont remember. You have the books on it and all and I dont want to dig mine out. Just what do you guys think this M1 Garand is worth? I would appreciate the input. Is there a way to find out what date it was manufactured? This was originally a 16" model that was cut down to 10" with the "bowtie" tip. In addition to the M1, I also have an original M1905 bayonet. I have since purchased an M3A1 Combo Tool w/ chamber brush for it. It also came with a very used M3 Combination Tool w/Patch Holder. The kit is missing the bore brush, oiler bottle, and the M10 Combination Tool. The cleaning rod kit (CASE, B021-7162792) looks unused and the canvas pouch looks and smells like it has been inside the stock for years. All of the wood is of the same color and wear as well. All of the markings are correct for a 1943 SA M1 Garand manufactured in July 1943. The "P" behind the trigger is also in the correct font. I was also cleaning the stock a bit more and discovered the SA cartouche (SA over EMcF) and the SA Ordnance stamp on the left side of the stock just below the receiver. This alone leads me to believe that it is original and not just a correct build. All of the metal finishes are consistent. Upon its first disassembly since owning it, I discovered that everything is correct for my rifle (based on the internet research of the M1 Garand). Until last Saturday, I was not sure if it was original or not. I bought this '43 SA M1 Garand last year.
